Tesla has launched an official web Dashcam viewer at dashcam.tesla.com, designed to review recordings outside the car. The tool arrives with software update 2026.20, which introduces clip encryption and is already rolling out across the fleet.
Integration with 2026.20 encryption
After installing 2026.20, USB files can be encrypted automatically with a key tied to your Tesla account (you can disable it in Controls > Security). Encrypted clips do not play on unauthorized computers.
In the web viewer you sign in with your Tesla account; the page fetches decryption keys and processes video locally in your browser, without uploading recordings to external servers, as Not a Tesla App describes.
It also opens unencrypted files as a universal viewer, similar to the in-car one.
Multi-camera grid and download
- Drag and drop video files into the browser
- Organize by name and merge angles (front, rear, sides) into a synchronized grid
- Download All button to package clips into a ZIP
- Works on mobile (with USB OTG adapter) and laptops
The same 2026.20 update adds parental controls to restrict Browser, Tesla Theater, and Arcade, plus new Service Mode panels for technicians.
Rollout and availability
According to Not a Tesla App tracking, 2026.20 was around 4% of the fleet in early June 2026. The web portal may not yet be available in all countries.
