On July 6, 2026, @SpaceXAI posted “We are now @SpaceXAI” with a video of a new logo blending SpaceX’s stylized A with xAI’s X (Engadget, TeslaNorth).
From standalone startup to orbital division
SpaceX acquired xAI in February 2026; Musk argued AI electricity demand cannot be met on Earth alone. The x.ai site already shows the new brand. X (the social network) also sits under the ecosystem after the 2025 acquisition.
FCC: 100,000 Gen3 satellites
The same Monday, SpaceX filed with the FCC for up to 100,000 third-generation Starlink satellites in very low orbit—a project separate from the filing for up to 1 million satellites for orbital data centers (SatNews, Yahoo Finance).
Starship as the key piece
Elon Musk replied on X: “We're gonna need a bigger rocket! (Starship).” Gen3 satellites would be larger than today’s; Musk has promised >10× bandwidth versus V2 and roughly half the latency.
Teslarios is not affiliated with SpaceX or xAI.
