Tesla’s Austin Robotaxi infrastructure is advancing with a key piece: an operational cleaning robot at the hub, per regulatory filings highlighted by @scotsrule08 and covered by Not a Tesla App and Windows Forum.
What the permit says
A construction permit dated July 11, 2026 lists, alongside Superchargers and an equipment inspection system, a “Cleaning Robot.” The site finished construction in March 2026. It is the first documented appearance on official paperwork, though Tesla showed the concept on video last year (Not a Tesla App, 2025).
How the robotic arm works
The design uses an arm with an automatic attachment switcher: vacuum seats and floors, pick up trash, and clean the 21″ screen with microfiber without scratching. Sawyer Merritt shared video of the robot operating in July.
Part of a larger ecosystem
Tesla plans automated car washes for Cybercabs and interior cleaning robots to keep high-utilization fleets running with minimal human intervention. The Austin hub has also drawn attention as boundary fences came down, exposing dozens of Cybercabs and Robotaxi Model Ys (@scotsrule08).
